Christmas Animals
Christmas Animals: The angels, the shepherds, and the wise men, along with Mary and Joseph, dominate the scene around the Christ-child, who gave the world the gift of Christmas. But animals also play a role in the greatest story ever told. Being dumb, they could not sing of it or talk of it, and the result is their silence leaves them the most neglected creatures connected with the Incarnation. We usually look at the astronomical witness of the star, or the angelic witness of the heavenly host, but we seldom to never notice the animal witness to the advent of Christ

Greg Laurie Daily Devotions - Greg Laurie Daily Devotion - May 22, 2008 - Christian Devotional: "“Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin's name was Mary.” (Luke 1:26–27)
It is difficult for us to understand, 2,000 years later, the significance of the angel Gabriel’s appearance to Mary in Nazareth."

The Extraordinary Birth of Jesus
The Extraordinary Birth of Jesus: "Extraordinary births are certainly not unprecedented in biblical history. As part of the Abrahamic Covenant, God promised to send a son to Abraham and Sarah (Gen. 17:19–22). They were both beyond normal childbearing ages and laughed at the prospect of being parents, yet they ultimately witnessed the miraculous arrival of their son, Isaac (Gen. 21:1–3). In Judges 13, an angel of the Lord told Manoah and his barren wife that they would have a special son. True to the heavenly messenger’s words, Samson entered the world and for a time delivered the Israelites from the oppression of the Philistines."

Atheist Central -- Ray Comfort's Blog: "Much damage has been done to the cause of the gospel by telling the world that they will go to hell “because they don’t believe in Jesus.” This makes no sense to the ungodly."

A Discerning Heart: Eric Dykstra, Crossing Church, and Blasphemy
A Discerning Heart: Eric Dykstra, Crossing Church, and Blasphemy: I had difficulty sleeping last night after listening to the latest installment of the Pirate Christian Radio podcast with host Chris Rosebrough. Last Friday, Chris was in Elk River, Minnesota, meeting with a group of people from the town about issues with The Crossing Church, "pastored" by a man named Eric Dykstra, and his wife, pastrix Kelly Dykstra

Is Something Wrong in Elk River? | runlevel five(pointer): "The Crossing is a seeker-sensitive church in Elk River, Minnesota. It’s leader, Eric Dykstra is a dynamic speaker. He has a vision. He has a following that is committed to fulfilling it. Unfortunately, and by many accounts, it is his personal vision, and not the one of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is accused of being autocratic and manipulative, allegedly firing and replacing his board of elders."
