On The Box: Words of Comfort: Why Do 80% of Youth Leave Church After High School?

On The Box: Words of Comfort: Why Do 80% of Youth Leave Church After High School?: "There is a well-known statistic that tells us that 80% of youth stop attending church after they graduate high school. As a parent, that’s the most horrifying statistic in the world to me! Let me bring that closer to home, that means, in a church youth group with 20 kids, over 15 will no longer go to church after they graduate. In a home, 3 out of 4 of our kids statistically will forsake fellowship by the time they’re 18. The cry of all of our hearts should be “why”?!"

John Piper: The Prosperity Gospel is Idolatry | Best Videos: "I cannot ever remember hearing a prosperity preacher quote the Bible verse 1 Timothy 6:10 (ESV) which says, "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. On The Box: Words of Comfort: The Texas Cop and the $100 bill

On The Box: Words of Comfort: The Texas Cop and the $100 bill: "The Texas police officer who gave a motorist a $100 bill after giving him a citation for an expired registration, certainly expressed the spirit of the season. It’s a time of giving. But that's not the message of Christmas. The true (and often forgotten) meaning is expressed in the famous Christmas Carol, in four simple words:"

The Everyday Club 2013 « Stone the Preacher

The Everyday Club 2013 « Stone the Preacher: "On January 1, 2004, I made a commitment to share my faith every day. (Read about that here.) Making this commitment has taught me to be a more gracious Christian in the face of opposition, a more faithful evangelist in the presence of the unsaved, and a more thankful disciple of Christ. Thankful because I once was lost but now am found."

What signs indicate that the end times are approaching?

What signs indicate that the end times are approaching?: "Answer: Matthew 24:5-8 gives us some important clues so we can discern the approach of the end times, “For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.” An increase in false messiahs, an increase in warfare, and increases in famines, plagues, and natural disasters—these are signs of the end times. In this passage, though, we are given a warning: we are not to be deceived, because these events are only the beginning of birth pains; the end is still to come."
