evangelism | Devotions For Disciples: "If laying down your life meant that you could see people come to Christ, would you do it? And if so, would you be overjoyed to do so? When I read this scripture I think to myself, “I wish I could be as dedicated to the gospel as Paul was.” The truth is, as we walk with Jesus, He will transform us in the same way as Paul. The more we say yes to Jesus, the less we will care for the things of this world and the more we will treasure what is eternal. Even to the point of losing our lives."

Laurie Roth - Christlam: Merging Christianity with Islam
Laurie Roth - Christlam: Merging Christianity with Islam: "Rarely do people these days speak spiritual or political truth, especially if they perceive they might be rejected, attacked or lose power. Instead, we see Christian and political posers who have the cookie cutter look of Christianity and conservatism. Let’s see…’Show real faith and imagine yourself in that Jaguar’ ‘social gospel’ ‘self esteem’ gospel ‘many ways to God gospel.’ "

Jesus Bigger than Olympic Bronze or Gold for Kelly Clark, US Snowboarder: ""It's very easy in the world of competitive sports to be defined by what you do. I found that God's really into what's in your heart. He just wants your heart. It's been a great privilege to pursue my dreams and pursue God at the same time." –Kelly Clark"

The Mystery of His Love | Daily Devotion | BGEA
The Mystery of His Love | Daily Devotion | BGEA: "No human experience can fully illustrate the imputed righteousness of God, as conceived by His infinite love. It is a mystery-incomprehensible and inexplicable. Like the mystery of the sun’s heat and light, we cannot measure it or explain it, and yet we could not live without it. Writing of the mystery of completed righteousness, Paul said, “We speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory. ."

What is a Christian?
What is a Christian?: "Answer: A dictionary definition of a Christian would be something similar to “a person professing belief in Jesus as the Christ or in the religion based on the teachings of Jesus.” While this is a good starting point, like many dictionary definitions, it falls somewhat short of really communicating the biblical truth of what it means to be a Christian. The word “Christian” is used three times in the New Testament (Acts 11:26; 26:28; 1 Peter 4:16). Followers of Jesus Christ were first called “Christians” in Antioch (Acts 11:26) because their behavior, activity, and speech were like Christ. The word “Christian” literally means, “belonging to the party of Christ” or a “follower of Christ.”"

I am a Catholic. Why should I consider becoming a Christian?
I am a Catholic. Why should I consider becoming a Christian?: "Answer: First, please understand that we intend no offense in the wording of this question. We genuinely receive questions, from Catholics, along the lines of “What is the difference between Catholics and Christians?” In face-to-face conversations with Catholics, we have literally heard, “I am not a Christian, I am Catholic.” To many Catholics, the terms “Christian” and “Protestant” are synonymous. With all that said, the intent of this article is that Catholics would study what the Bible says about being a Christian and would perhaps consider that the Catholic faith is not the best representation of what the Bible describes. As a background, please read our article on “What is a Christian?”"

Are baptism and communion means of grace?
Are baptism and communion means of grace?: "Answer: Quite simply, baptism and communion are separate from grace and are not a means to it. It would be more proper to say the ordinances of the church are the signs of grace, not the means of grace.
Baptism is the outward expression of an inner change. It is an act of obedience after salvation has occurred. The examples of baptism in Scripture all show that baptism happened after the person was born again (e.g., Acts 8:26–39). Being immersed in water (or being sprinkled with water) cannot change a person’s heart; that is the Spirit’s work. “The Spirit gives life” (2 Corinthians 3:6)."

Question of the Week
Question of the Week: " The Olympics represent the pinnacle of athleticism, training, and competitiveness, going all the way back to ancient times. The apostle Paul used illustrations from the world of athletics in several of his letters. In three Epistles, he used the image of all-out racing to urge vigorous and lawful pursuit of spiritual growth and service. Four times Paul spoke of his own growth and service in terms of his own such race."
