On The Box: Words of Comfort: Who Is He?
On The Box: Words of Comfort: Who Is He?: "Mormons say that He was Lucifer's brother. Jews say He was an imposter. Muslims say He was a prophet. Atheists say He didn't exist. Gandhi admired Him. Hitler hated Him. Jehovah's witnesses say that He was the Archangel Michael. The Bible says He was God in human form, the Christ, the Son of the Living God, that He is the only Door to everlasting life. Pontius Pilate didn't know what to do with Him, so he washed his hands of Him. Who is Jesus of Nazareth to you, and what are you going to do with Him?"

On The Box: Yesterday’s Show Notes: Monday, 8th April 2013.: "I know it is coming, and I do not fear it, because I believe there is nothing on the other side of death to fear . . . Still, illness led me resolutely toward the contemplation of death. That led me to the subject of evolution, that most consoling of all the sciences, and I became engulfed on my blog in unforeseen discussions about God, the afterlife, religion, theory of evolution, intelligent design, reincarnation, the nature of reality, what came before the big bang, what waits after the end, the nature of intelligence, the reality of the self, death, death, death."

Life Begins at Fertilization Says Kansas Legislature
Life Begins at Fertilization Says Kansas Legislature: "Right to life advocates are claiming another victory, this time in the state of Kansas. This past week Kansas House of Representatives voted 90-30 in favor of a bill to prohibit any public funding for abortions. The same measure passed the state Senate with a 28-10 vote earlier this year. The bill now goes to the desk of Governor Sam Brownback, a Republican who opposes abortion."

On The Box: Words of Comfort: Science?
On The Box: Words of Comfort: Science?: ""I'd love to see these creationists response when we do finally make some or other form of life. The day is coming.... science, you gotta love it."
All the combined brains of our most intelligent scientists haven't a clue how to even begin to make one grain of sand from nothing, let alone create the utter complexity of even one cell of organic life. It is comparatively simple to recreate something using God's existing materials, but we can't make simplest form of non-organic life from nothing. Such utter human powerlessness reveals the intellectual embarrassment of atheism."

U.S. Government: Evangelicals, Catholics & Ultra-Orthodox Jews Are Serious Threats to National Security - Patriot UpdatePatriot Update: "Ron Trowbridge, undersheriff of Prowers County Colorado, attended a training session in La Junta, Colorado which was hosted by the Colorado State Patrol (CSP) and funded by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The training was on sovereign citizens and Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs, but also on the agenda was the subject of Christians who believe the U.S. was founded on Godly principles and who interpret the Bible literally. This describes many in the sovereign citizen movement but it is also indicative of many mainstream right-of-center Americans."

The Ten Commandments by spease
The Ten Commandments by spease: "The ten commandments are the laws of God, sent down to man to show us the difference between right and wrong. The Ten Commandments are Gods laws to show us what sin is, and shows us that we are all sinners.
Without the ten commandments, we would not know what sin is and we would not know that we are sinners and need Jesus to be forgiven and repent from our sins."

Why should the Bible be our source for morality?
Why should the Bible be our source for morality?: " If the Bible isn’t the Christian’s source for morality, then the question needs to be asked, “What should be?” The Christian worldview is based on two foundational axioms: 1) God exists, and 2) God has spoken to us in the Bible. If these two presuppositions aren’t the starting point in a Christian worldview, then we’re just like everyone else, trying to find objectivity in a sea of subjectivity."

Why is "You shall not commit adultery" in the Ten Commandments?
Why is "You shall not commit adultery" in the Ten Commandments?: " Before we can answer this question, we need to be clear on the definition of adultery. The dictionary defines “adultery” as “voluntary sexual intercourse between a married person and a person who is not his or her spouse.” The Bible would concur with this definition. In Leviticus 18:20, God told Moses, “Do not have sexual relations with your neighbor's wife and defile yourself with her,” and in Deuteronomy 22:22, we find a similar definition:"
