Got Questions - Question of the Week

Got Questions - Question of the Week: "nswer: There are literally hundreds of promises in the Bible. How can we know which promises apply to us, which promises we can claim? To frame this question another way, how can one tell the difference between general promises and specific promises? A general promise is one that is given by the Holy Spirit to every believer in every age. When the author penned the promise, he set no limitations on time period or recipient."

Why should I believe in God?

Why should I believe in God?: "Answer: Belief in God is the most basic of all human considerations. Acknowledgement of one’s Creator is foundational to learning any more about Him. Without believing in God, it is impossible to please Him or even come to Him (Hebrews 11:6). People are surrounded with proof of God’s existence, and it is only through the hardening of sin that men reject that proof (Romans 1:18–23). It is foolish to disbelieve in God (Psalm 14:1)."

What is the significance of the lampstand in the Bible?

What is the significance of the lampstand in the Bible?: "nswer: The first time we see the word lampstand in the Bible is in Exodus 25:31, as God gives detailed instructions about the golden lampstand to be placed in the tabernacle the Israelites were building. It’s interesting to note just how precise God is in explaining how He wanted the lampstand to look. Since we can be assured there are no “wasted words” in the Bible, we know each detail and specification are important for some reason."

Witnessing to Catholics—what is the key?

Witnessing to Catholics—what is the key?: "Catholics are indoctrinated from an early age, and a barrier to biblical truth is carefully erected in their minds. Catholics are taught that everything that comes from Rome takes precedence over the Bible. “If the Pope says it, it must be true” is a cultivated mindset. Unfortunately, Catholics are not taught to think for themselves, and many do not know why they believe what they do. Many Catholics have no concept of what is written in the Bible, other than the two or three passages that are read during Mass."

How Evangelism is Like Falling Off a Cliff | InterVarsity - Evangelism: "I was dropping to earth at an uncomfortable rate.

I had fallen off the cliff and would hit the ground at any moment.

Just time for a quick final prayer, and it was time to say goodbye to this world.

Only...I didn't plummet to my death. A rope was attached to my waist, strung through a rivet on the rock face, and held tightly by my friend below."

Bible scripture that prove the science of the Bible

Bible scripture that prove the science of the Bible: "One of the ways to prove that the Bible is true and is the word of God, is to look at all the science that was written about in the Bible thousands of years before man discovered or could even imagine that many of these scientific things were real. The men who wrote these things could not have known any of this without the words being from God. Many of these thing we take for granted now because we know that they are proven facts, and are so obvious to us now."
