The Sin of Putting God to the Test: "Hope in sheer fortune is misplaced hope. Faith in 'Good Luck' is misplaced faith. It is a kind of idolatry. We are not supposed to hope in such things."

Stone the Preacher

Stone the Preacher: "I will never answer the majority of the questions unbelievers have about God, questions that deal with proof that God exists; to do so would violate the “faith clause” that is a condition of becoming a Christian."

Harvest Daily Devotion for 6/20/2011: "Glorified and Perfected": "It was a great moment when Peter, James, and John saw Jesus transfigured before them. I believe the real miracle of the transfiguration was not that Jesus shined that day, but that He didn't shine all of the other days as well. He was God incarnate, walking among us. Never at any moment did He cease to be God."

Unholy Trinity

Unholy Trinity: "I don't watch much television, and when I do I generally avoid the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN). For many years TBN has been dominated by faith-healers, full-time fund-raisers, and self-proclaimed prophets spewing heresy."

Greed-Driven Theology

Greed-Driven Theology: "As to which came first, is like the chicken and egg question.

In II Tim 3:7, we read, 'Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.' And, in II Tim 4:3-4, the Apostle Paul warned that these days and type of teachers would come. For he stated: “For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. Bad thinking produces bad theology."

What If They Say They Already Tried Christianity? « StreetApologetics: "Often times we will have atheists or agnostics approach us during an open-air, insisting that they once were on fire Christians for God but now they have a message to share…God is just imaginary. More times than not this anger they have is rooted in some hypocrites they encountered along the way in church. Two things are worth mentioning here."

StreetApologetics

StreetApologetics: "Q: Is repentance and trusting in Christ two separate stages?
In short, the answer is no. With that said, let’s see about fleshing this out to get a better idea of what is going on.

There is a very tight relationship, which repentance and faith enjoy together. They could be thought of as two facets or sides of one singular action. Repentance and faith are inseparable in such a way that you cannot have one without the other."

A Good Question

A Good Question: "Do you think your principle ['if you merely participate in a gambling contest with a desire to win, you are guilty of coveting that which belongs to your neighbor'] applies exclusively to gambling, or does it apply to any and all forms of competitive activity? For example, if I enter a boxing match, or any other competitive activity, I am entering it to win. Does this mean that I am guilty of violating the tenth commandment by coveting my opponents title, belt, or even reputation? It seems to me that it does, but I'm not sure."

Why Did God Inspire Four Gospel Accounts? | Christian Apologetics and Research Ministry: "Have you ever wondered why God inspired four different gospel accounts of Jesus’ life, earthly ministry, death and resurrection? As a young Christian I remember thinking to myself “Isn’t this kind of repetitive, especially the synoptic gospels (Matthew, Mark and Luke) which are so very similar to each other?' What’s the point? Well it may interest you to know (and hopefully you were already aware) that God is smarter than you and I and He had great purpose in the writing and preservation of the four gospels in our Bible."

I think it was Kirk who was going through the good person test and if someone answered in the wrong way than he wanted to hear, there's a back-up plan to prove that the person is wrong. It's not a test, it's a trap, a condemnation...The self-assuredness that your friends show appears to be dishonest."

How can I become more motivated for soul winning?

How can I become more motivated for soul winning?: "Answer: Being motivated for soul winning is a good thing, but we must define some terms first. “Soul winning” is a metaphor for evangelism, or witnessing. As such, this is a good thing to pursue. The Bible calls us to evangelize. Evangelism is at the heart of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20). Christians are called to be witnesses of their faith to a watching world (Acts 1:8). In fact, the word “martyr” comes from the Greek word for “witness.” Early Christians were often put to death for their “witness” to Christ. Clearly these people were so motivated for winning souls that they gave their lives to that cause."

What is the proper way to pray?

What is the proper way to pray?: "Answer: Is it best to pray standing up, sitting down, kneeling, or bowing down? Should our hands be open, closed, or lifted up to God? Do our eyes need to be closed when we pray? Is it better to pray in a church building or out in nature? Should we pray in the morning when we get up or at night before we go to bed?"

The sovereignty of God and His unchanging nature: "Our God is completely sovereign, in control of absolutely everything at all times.
