The Everyday Club 2013 « Stone the Preacher: "On January 1, 2004, I made a commitment to share my faith every day. (Read about that here.) Making this commitment has taught me to be a more gracious Christian in the face of opposition, a more faithful evangelist in the presence of the unsaved, and a more thankful disciple of Christ. Thankful because I once was lost but now am found."

What signs indicate that the end times are approaching?
What signs indicate that the end times are approaching?: "Answer: Matthew 24:5-8 gives us some important clues so we can discern the approach of the end times, “For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.” An increase in false messiahs, an increase in warfare, and increases in famines, plagues, and natural disasters—these are signs of the end times. In this passage, though, we are given a warning: we are not to be deceived, because these events are only the beginning of birth pains; the end is still to come."

How can I understand the Book of Revelation?: "The key to Bible interpretation, especially for the book of Revelation, is to have a consistent hermeneutic. Hermeneutics is the study of the principles of interpretation. In other words, it is the way you interpret Scripture."

Who the 24 elders represent can be very important in regards to the pre-trib rapture. The 24 elders are mentioned five times in the Book of Revelation as follows: 4:4, 10; 5:8; 11:16; and 19:4"

Bible reading plan
Bible reading plan: "One of the most important thing for a Christian to do is to read the Bible daily. Daily Bible reading is important so you continue to learn and grow in your walk to be more Christ like. There are many Bible reading programs that people use, all of which are good if they get you reading Gods word every day."

D. A. Carson on 5 Ways to Prepare Kids for Attacks on Their Faith – Justin Taylor: "There is no formulaic answer and no guarantee. For a start, our children themselves are extraordinarily diverse. Many will be tempted by postmodern assumptions. Others will feel far greater threats from biologists, cosmologists, or psychologists who operate under the assumptions of raw atheism or, worse, functional atheism. All I can do is enumerate some values and practices in the home that seem to me to be wise, biblically faithful, and useful in mitigating the dangers. These are exemplary, not exhaustive."

On The Box: Words of Comfort: Reading the Bible Through a Year
On The Box: Words of Comfort: Reading the Bible Through a Year: "I guess my Bible reveals that I believe in regularly opening its pages. I have been a Christian for more than 40 years and never once have I gone a day without reading the Scriptures. As a new Christian I thought that was normal for every believer. I was wrong. So for many years I have encouraged Christians to say, "No Bible, no breakfast; no read, no feed," so that they can stand on the wonderful promises of Psalm One. It is with this thought in mind that I would like you to join me in reading the Bible through in a year."

On The Box: Words of Comfort: Copyright ©: "I have often wondered about copyrights on car designs, and who it is that decides whether or not a new model looks like an existing make. Surely there are regulations that would stop a car maker from copying the shape of a Lamborghini or a Volkswagen Beetle. Speaking of copyright. Have you ever noticed how billions of people have different faces, and yet all God has to work with is a nose, a mouth, and a couple of eyes. And some people ask why we worship Him."

Is gambling a sin? What does the Bible say about gambling?
Is gambling a sin? What does the Bible say about gambling?: "Answer: The Bible does not specifically condemn gambling, betting, or the lottery. The Bible does warn us, however, to stay away from the love of money (1 Timothy 6:10; Hebrews 13:5). Scripture also encourages us to stay away from attempts to “get rich quick” (Proverbs 13:11; 23:5; Ecclesiastes 5:10). Gambling most definitely is focused on the love of money and undeniably tempts people with the promise of quick and easy riches."

How to Win the Public on Homosexuality – The Gospel Coalition Blog: "President Obama's support for same-sex marriage is making headlines but not news. That's probably because he was in favor of same-sex marriage before he was against it and now in favor of it again. Gay Is Not the New Black – The Gospel Coalition Blog
Gay Is Not the New Black – The Gospel Coalition Blog: "It's hard to deny that homosexual marriage appears to be a foregone conclusion in America. This is a frightening prospect not only for those of us who understand marriage to be a testimony of the relationship between Christ and his bride, the church, but also for all who value the family and its contribution to the well-being of society and human thriving. And while it's difficult to watch a coordinated, well-funded, well-connected propaganda strategy undermine thousands of years of human history, it's especially disconcerting to witness the use of the civil rights struggle as the vehicle for the strategy."

“How should I witness to my coworkers?” | Ray Comfort's Daily Evidence: "When we interact with people on a daily basis, we have many opportunities for sharing our faith. First, be sure you are respectful to your employer and set a good example in your work ethic by working “as to the Lord” (Col. 3:23). When others around you grumble and complain, if you have a calm, forgiving, steadfast spirit, it will make an impression. As you respond in a Christlike way to angry coworkers and stressful circumstances, people will see a difference in your life."

On The Box: Words of Comfort: The Redcoats (part 2): "The Internet has given instant access to the darkest of sins. Hard core pornography is seconds away from the eyes of any youth who can type in the word “sex.” He can have instant delirious sinful pleasures at the click of a button. But it comes at a price. Those who give themselves to darkness will automatically cower away from and hate the light, and when any human being hardens his God-given conscience, he will find that he can also hate without any sense of guilt"

Should we give gifts at Christmas?
Should we give gifts at Christmas?: "Answer: Many people take the idea of gift giving at Christmas back to the scripture in Matthew 2:10-11 which talks about the Magi (wise men) giving gifts to Jesus at his home: "When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh.""

What should parents tell their children about Santa Claus?
What should parents tell their children about Santa Claus?: "Answer: Although Santa Claus is a mythical figure, his creation is based in part on a great Christian man named Saint Nicholas of Myra, who lived in the 4th century. Nicholas was born to Christian parents who left him an inheritance when they died, which he distributed to the poor. He became a priest at a young age and was well-known for his compassion and generosity. He had a reputation for giving gifts anonymously, and he would throw bags of money into people's homes (and sometimes down their chimneys) under the cover of night to avoid being spotted."

How should Christians respond to the "War on Christmas"?: "Answer: Many people perceive that there is a concerted effort to eliminate the word “Christmas” from public discourse—sort of a “war on Christmas.” The stories seem to be coming more frequently: a grade-school choir sings “We Wish You a Happy Holiday” instead of “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” for their “Winter Concert"

TGC Mobile | Article | God Is Working Behind the Scenes in Greece
TGC Mobile | Article | God Is Working Behind the Scenes in Greece: "The dull whine of the motorbike's engine was the only sound that marred an otherwise pristine setting. Though off-season for the Greek island of Aegina, this October day offered everything the throngs of tourists sought on their holiday only a few months earlier. The sun sparkled off the clear water of the Aegean, the Mediterranean breeze was light and wispy, and the temperature was such that you never noticed it. My friend Jim and I had rented motorbikes from an Albanian man who offered the best price on the island, even if they did sputter a bit. We jumped on the island's main road that runs along the coast and took in the views. Eventually we began winding up one of the many mountains toward what is said to be the jewel in the crown of Aegina---the Temple of Aphaea. We rounded the final bend, parked the bikes, and climbed up the hill towards the temple."
